- The University of New Mexico Children’s Hospital & Critical Care Pavilion which consists of 500,000 Square Feet of ER, OR, ICU, NICU and Supporting Facilities and Power Distribution Infrastructure System Modifications. The congested site and aggressive schedule challenged the team and the substantial completion by May, 2007, is a testimate to teamwork and commitment to excellence.
- New Mexico’s first full service state of the art motion picture and television production facility, The Albuquerque Studios, consists of site power and communications distribution, three (3) dual stage/production office complexes and a large “Mill” building which provides space for support services and mechanical systems of the entire facility. Building construction totaled approximately 285,000 square feet. With the site infrastructure, central plant, mill building and (1) dual 24,000 SF stage complex with production office being completed within 6 months, this fast track design-build project was completed in total, in approximately 10 months.
- A critical component to providing water in the desert, the world’s largest inland desalination plant was a joint project that was completed in 2007 for El Paso Water Utilities and Ft. Bliss and proved to be a significant challenge. This facility will produce 27.5 million gallons of fresh water daily and serve as a model for other inland facilities in the future. The technology behind this process will not only remove the salts but also potential pollutants, making sure El Paso and Ft. Bliss have water sufficient for growth 50 years into the future.
- Installing the First ever Medium Voltage “Pure Wave” UPS system in the country as a design/build subcontractor for S&C Electric on a project which provided Clean & Emergency Power for a new 1,000,000 + Square Foot Microchip Fabrication Plant on a fast track delivery schedule.
- Providing Electrical, Instrumentation & Control services for the new Cogeneration Project for the City of Albuquerque. The project consisted of New Generators and appurtenances allowing the utilization of “waste gas” generated from Wastewater Treatment Plant processes as fuel to provide utility power for plant operations and excess power sell back to the Utility.
- MWI has provided electrical services on many Power & Emergency Power Upgrade projects for Hospitals, Y2K preparedness projects, Sandia National Labs and the University of New Mexico.
- Vast experience with Power upgrades while maintaining facility operations such as ICU/CCU facilities, microchip plants and water & wastewater treatment plants.
- Fast Track Data Centers, Collocation & Switching Facilities constructed in 6 Months including Generators, 5KV, 15KV and 480V power distribution, Signal Reference Grids (SRG) and extensive grounding & shielding requirements.
- The leader in Electrical/Instrumentation & Control for Water, Wastewater and Reclaimed/Reuse Water Treatment facilities. Projects consisted of cutting edge process equipment, extensive power and control requirements.
- Technical Research Facilities such as the High Explosives Components Facility for Sandia National Labs.
- Mission Critical Facilities such as the Emergency Operations Facility for Los Alamos National Labs, Operations Support Facility @ Schriever AFB and the Mission Support Facility @ Peterson AFB.
- Architecturally challenging projects like the Renovation of the Pope Joy Hall/Fine Arts Center for UNM and the New Metropolitan Courthouse for the State of New Mexico.
- Keeping with the theme of the modern style of the existing buildings on campus, the UNM School of Architecture, is a new 108,000 SF, 5-Story building consisting of an Auditorium, Lecture Hall, Computer Labs, Classrooms, Architectural Studio Spaces, Gallery and Exhibition Space. Faculty and Staffing Offices, Library Reading Areas, Library Stacks, and General Supporting Spaces are situated throughout with open ceilings allowing students to view Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Structural Systems.
- Unprecedented Team work, coordination and early completion of the Reconstruction of the BIG I: I-25/I-40 Intersection, Albuquerque, NM.
Twenty nine years of Construction Experience, Aggressive Proactive Management and Field Staff, Financing, Bonding and Equipment are the foundations that allow MWI to undertake and successfully execute unique and challenging projects and provide Owners, Engineers and General Contractors a quality project built on time and within budget.
